2. What cookies are

Cookies are text files that contain small amounts of information downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. The cookies are then sent back to the originating site on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes them.

Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognize the user’s device.

Cookies can be used to help understand how the site or service is used, allow you to navigate between pages efficiently, help remember preferences, and, in general, improve your browsing experience. They can also help make advertising messages and other content displayed online more relevant and specific to you.

They can be set by the website you are visiting (proprietary cookies) or by another subject, for example an advertising network (third-party cookies).

3. Types of Cookies

  • Technical cookies

This type of cookie allows certain sections of the website to function correctly. They can be of two categories: persistent and session:

  1. Persistan one: once the browser is closed they are not destroyed but remain up to a preset expiration date
  2. Sessione one: vengono distrutti ogni volta che il browser viene chiuso.

These cookies, always sent from our domain, are necessary to view the site correctly and in relation to the technical services offered, they will therefore always be used and sent, unless the user changes the settings in his browser (thus invalidating the display of the pages of the site).

This type of cookie collects anonymous data on user activity and how it arrived on the website.

Analytical cookies are sent from the site itself or from third-party domains.

These cookies are used to collect information on the use of the website by users anonymously such as: pages visited, time spent, origins of the traffic of origin, geographical origin, age, gender and interests for the purpose of marketing. These cookies are sent from third-party domains external to the site.

  • Cookies to integrate third-party software products and functions

This type of cookie integrates functions developed by third parties within the pages of the website such as icons and preferences expressed in social networks in order to share the contents of the site or for the use of third-party software services (such as software to generate maps and additional software offering additional services).

These cookies are sent from third-party domains and from partner sites that offer their functionality on the pages of the site.

  • Profiling Cookies

These are the cookies used to track the user’s browsing on the net and create profiles on his tastes, habits, choices, etc. With these cookies, advertising messages can be transmitted to the user’s terminal in line with the preferences already expressed by the same user while browsing online.
