Why is a Pap smear important?

A Pap smear is a simple and effective test that detects early, abnormal changes in cervical cells, often before any symptoms appear. Since cervical cancer develops slowly, regular screening allows early detection and timely treatment, significantly reducing risk and protecting your long-term health.

Prevention starts with routine screening.

How often should a PAP Smear be performed?

For most women, Pap smear screening is recommended every 1–3 years, depending on age and previous results.

More frequent screening may be advised if you have:
• Previous abnormal results
• High-risk HPV or a weakened immune system
• A history of cervical conditions

Your doctor will recommend the right schedule based on your individual health needs.
